Pollo mechado

Carne mechada (Venezuelan shredded beef) is a classic of Venezuelan cooking. It is often used as a filling for delicious arepas (Venezuelan corn breads), but also as the main ingredient of many other dishes. Alongside the beef version, you can also enjoy delicious pollo mechado or pavo mechado (shredded chicken or turkey), perfect with rice, baked plantain, potatoes, vegetables and more.
