Carne mechada

Carne mechada (Venezuelan slow-cooked shredded beef) is a true classic of Venezuelan cooking. It's often used as a filling for delicious arepas (Venezuelan corn bread pockets) and empanadas, but it's also the star ingredient of many other dishes. And it pairs perfectly with rice, tajadas (fried slices of ripe plantain), caraotas (black beans), vegetables and more.
